Thanks to the power of a dvd rental subscription I can now watch a couple of movies each week without bankrupting myself. It also means that I can finally tick off a lot of the older classic films that everyone says I should watch but I don't necessarily want to watch. Sometimes I'm happily surprised, other times I just don't understand what everyone is on about.
I've seen 109 films so far this year.
In 2009 I saw 77 films (overview), 78 films in 2008 (overview), 100 in 2007 (overview), in 2006 I saw 85 films (overview), in 2005 55, (overview), 50 in 2004 (overview) and 100 in 2003.

A good film that's aged reasonably well, with only a few concerning hairstyles and outfits that mark it as a bit dated now. The script is everything you would expect from Aaron Sorkin and Tom Cruise is brilliant as the inexperienced, talented and somewhat bitter lawyer. The surrounding cast is also brilliant, although Jack Nicholson is a bit over the top for my taste. A very interesting and enjoyable film.
