I watched 77 films in 2009, with an average rating of 6.45, a bit down on last year, so either things were a bit more mediocre or I'm getting fussier. I didn't get to see many 2009 films though.

I miss commuting by tube! Losing nearly 2 hours a day on the tube severely dented my reading time this year, just 31 books and quite a few were young adult or short media tie in books that weren't exactly award winning. There were a couple of really impressive works in there though.

 I watched 78 films in 2008, and with an average rating of 6.7 I guess on average they were somewhere between mediocre and good. There was a pretty good range though, with several films rating 9 and a few 3's and 4's. The best film I watched was a 2008 film as well, and will probably be not much of a surprise to anyone.

I discovered a few new series and authors this year, read some brilliant books - some of which I think will be looked back on well, and some books that are looked back on well but I thought were pretty miserable.
