Ok this section is unimaginatively titled 'Miscellaneous', a smart way of saying 'stuff that don't fit nowhere else'. Pretty much a collection of stuff I found on my hard-drive or on other websites that I didn't really want to lose and put here for the sake of indexing. Investigate at your peril.

2007 in review

Summary of my tv and film watching and book reading of 2007, including my choices of best and worst showings and a number of other random awards.

Christmas Dinner Shopping

Shopping for ingredients for christmas dinner plus trimmings, plus random stuff for 25 is a challenge but after years of doing this, I have carefully compiled a process to minimise the stress as much as possible. It's carefully considered advice which I completely fail to follow every single time.

Circles of Hell

In Dante's Divine Comedy he describes his journeys through the lands of the dead – Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. There are nine circles in Dante's Hell, each for a different kind of sinner and the entrance has a sign - "Abandon all hope, you who enter here". Here are my nine candidates for the location of the circles on Earth.

Review of my film watching and book reading for 2006, lots of lists and my rants. 2005 is here and 2004 is here.

Whistlestop Paris

I took a 3 day trip to Paris and blitzed just about every site in the city, this is my rambling journal.

Golden Age of SF

An article I wrote for icsf's 2004 Fanzine on if and when there had been golden ages in science fiction television.

A book review written as part of a journalism course I took.

i-mode in Europe

An article on i-mode written as part of a journalism course I took.

Brian Sibley and Jude Fisher

I went to a talk at the Science Museum by these two writers of the Lord of the Rings film tie in books. And is my general tendancy I took a plethora of notes and wrote them up.

Cynacism

I got an oh-so-delightful e-mail chain mail from someone on a day where I really couldn't take it. I resisted the urge to post it back to her with the accompanying rants, but felt the need to share the cynacism.

Brownian Thoughts

Some fool of a dragon insisted I write something for the society fanzine. I don't *do* creative. (February 2000)

An Average Night

I'd forgotten I'd written this, it's amazing what you find when you drift through society archives. A description of an average night in the icsf flat (Oct 1999)

Memes

I'm a sucker for memes. I usually post them on livejournal and am archiving them here because... well... 'cos I have nothing better to do while watching Buffy dvds.
